Manufacturing Production Assistant

The right candidate will be heavily involved with the manufacture of electronic equipment that is used in the water industry.

Duties will include, but not limited to; assembly, test, calibration, servicing and repair of a range of electronic and intrinsically safe flow and level measurement instrumentation and associated equipment.

Due to the expansion of the business the right candidate will also be involved (where requested) with the development of new products being designed within the business.

Requirements

  • To have a keen natural interest in electronics
  • Must be self-disciplined, self-motivated with initiative and a team-player
  • Naturally clean, tidy and organised
  • Must demonstrate experience with Digital and Analogue electronics
  • Shall be conversant with the use of standard electronic test equipment
  • Will be fully conversant with the use of mechanical hand tools
  • Fit and able bodied as the position requires some heavy lifting and cleaning down of equipment
  • Must be computer literate with Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Confident telephone manner as you will be expected to liaise with customers over the phone
  • Able to complete reports and maintain records of work carried out in accordance with our Business Management Systems, training will be given
  • To have an understanding of Health and Safety as there is a requirement to work with COSHH products
  • Be up to date with Polio and Tetanus

Experience

  • Grade C or equivalent in Maths & English
  • Qualification in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Desirable)
  • The ability to fault find on electronic equipment
  • Full clean driving licence is preferable but not essential, driving licence checks are carried out on all staff working for the business where applicable
  • The position is subject to us receiving two satisfactory references
  • The position is subject to a clear DBS check

Training

  • Internal training will be provided where appropriate
  • Where required external training will also be provided

  • Salary to start at £18,700 and will be dependent on age and  experience
