We’re delighted to announce that we are one of three professional suppliers to have been selected for inclusion on a flow monitoring design and installation framework for the Coal Authority.

The Coal Authority is a non-departmental public body that was set up in 1994 to manage the effects and legacy of past coal mining. Sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, part of its remit is to protect the environment by remediating pollution from abandoned coal and metal mines in the UK.

One aspect of its remediation programme includes the characterisation of mine water discharges in order to determine the potential for treatment. As such, flow measurements are needed, in conjunction with water quality data, to provide a full and comprehensive insight of each site.

Commenting on this strategic new business win, Dave Walker, commercial director at Detectronic said: “This is both an interesting and important opportunity for our field engineers and data centre teams here at Detectronic.

“We are ready to support the Coal Authority by providing bespoke and highly robust monitoring surveys that will deliver the vital information required for successful remediation of each selected site.”
