Board Changes at Detectronic

Wastewater monitoring specialists, Detectronic, have made a number of changes to their board as part of a restructure following the retirement of Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of the company, Steve Woods.

Former Commercial Director, Dave Walker, has moved into the role of Future Global Trends Director. Meanwhile, Gavin Wagstaff, former head of R&D has been appointed to Product and Data Director just 18 months after joining the business.

Commenting on his new role, Dave said: “In my new position, I will be working closely with all departments reporting to our Managing Director, Neil Butler, and wider Adler & Allan board members on current trends, opportunities, and challenges.

“I’ll report on direction for the current and future strategy of the business, both at home and overseas. With PR24 just around the corner, this is an exciting time to be working in the UK water sector in particular. My focus over the next few months will be to work closely with key stakeholders, including politicians, regulators and WASCs to ensure the future needs of the industry for the next AMP is fed back to the business, ensuring we are ready for delivering on the demands and appetite of our customers over the next year and beyond the next AMP.”

Remarking on his appointment, Gavin said: “Over the last 18 months we have built a fantastic development team within Detectronic. We achieved what we set out to do and now is the time to build on this. One of the ways in which we can do this is to further enhance our unrivalled product range and data analysis specialisms.”

Continues Gavin: “By bringing the R&D and Data team together, will take our current and future products to the next level, whilst ensuring that we meet our customers’ needs and expectations. Innovation is the current “buzz” word in the technology world, and we do try to innovate wherever possible. Another key word is “resilience” which is central to our decision-making process and in making sure that the products and data we produce can be relied upon by our customers.”

Concludes Neil Butler: “I’m looking forward to delivering our long-term strategy alongside both Dave and Gavin. We have some exciting developments and projects on the horizon that will contribute to our continued growth and expansion and the pair will play a key role in our overall success. And, after over four decades in the industry, we wish Steve a very long and happy retirement.”
