Home Our Equipment Water Quality Monitors ORAKEL
The ORAKEL System is ideal for all your water monitoring equipment needs, measuring both water flow and water quality at the same time. Created as a modular system, a wide range of water quality sensors can be added to measure various characteristics, such as pH, COD and suspended solids, for a truly bespoke and cost-effective solution.
Two sensors can be connected as standard to one controller. However, one configured system could have up to 16 sensors connected and controlled by one controller. The ORKAEL system’s range of water monitoring equipment includes three flow meters and five different pH meters. It has a range of conductivity and TDS meters for different applications and many other sensors. All the sensors are compatible and both flow meter and water quality sensors can be configured onto one system.
Optional comms packages allow Profibus, Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, 4-20mA analogue outputs and relays for alarms and control.
The ORAKEL controller is equipped with a display screen, readings can be taken directly from the control unit or downloaded from the internal data logger. An optional Detectronic modem allows for remote communication capabilities.
PID Control
Full PID control suitable for nearly all dosing requirements, from simple to very complex processes.
Diagnostics
Includes a full set of instrument and measurement diagnostics.
Precision Positioning
An integrated signal oscilloscope optimises sensor positioning and diagnostics.
Easy Configuration
Includes a comprehensive internal database of pipe, fluid and lining materials.
Built-in Parameters
Built-in fluid parameters allow calculation to compensate for sound speed, density, viscosity, specific heat capacity and temperature (if temperature is known from optional temperature probe).
Flexible Measurement
Liquid can be measured in M, m3, USgal, mg, cf, bbl and Imp bbl. All measured values can be selected as flow rate per second, minute, hour or day and are automatically totalised.
Data Analysis
An optional GSM data-logger can be added and date sent to an online portal for detailed analysis.
The ORAKEL System is suitable for use in closed, partially filled and open channels.
The wide variety of sensors that can be added make it suitable for many applications, including:

The ORAKEL peracetic acid sensor is a membrane device which use no reagents. It is extremely stable and has a reduced maintenance and reduced whole life costs.
With its reduced maintenance, reduced calibration and reduced spares requirements, the ORAKEL peracetic acid sensor is arguably the most cost effective peracetic acid analyser available.
The ORAKEL range of Conductivity meters also double as a Salinity meter and a TDS meter. The range measures conductivity in water from 0 to 2,000,000 µS/cm (range selectable). You can choose between a standard graphite sensor and a more sophisticated toroidal sensor, or stainless steel ‘special’ sensors for high temperature, high pressure conductivity measurement applications.
Optical luminescent devices which are extremely resistant to abrasion, extremely stable, and have greatly reduced maintenance and whole life costs.
The ORAKEL Dissolved Oxygen sensor has no chemicals or moving parts. It is stable and reliable making it excellent for process controls and is suitable for all Dissolved Ovygen applications.
The ORAKEL COD/TOC Sensor uses UV254 light as a surrogate measurement for detecting organics in water.
It is designed in modular form so that it can be integrated with other sensors, such as pH, turbidity and dissolved oxygen, to provide all the tools needed for either a stand-alone UV254 analyser or as part of an effluent discharge monitoring system.
The ORAKEL COD/TOC Sensor provides online continuous organics monitoring utilising a 254nm ultraviolet light source.
The ORAKEL Suspended Solids senor has a large dynamic range, which eliminates the need for a “zero” and also eliminates the effect of background light.
For multiple measuring ranges, the suspended solids sensor can monitor turbidity and suspended solids from 2 NTU (1mg/l) to 8%* solids.
Water can have a positive or negative Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) and it is measured in volts. ORP is a way to measure water’s ability to accept or release electrons during a chemical reaction. Understanding the ORP value helps determine the quality of the water and thereby helps operators decide what water treatment processes may be required. The more positive the ORP value, the greater the tendency the water has to oxidise (gain electrons from) organisms or other material in the water, thereby killing or destroying them.
